Our Team
Randy Stafford
Randy Stafford owned a construction company for 40 years that developed hundreds of athletic clubs and built over 5000 Racquetball and Squash courts. During his free time, Randy managed cotton farms and received several patents for improvements to turbine engines. He uses his Engineering and Business experience to manage the day-to-day operations necessary to manufacture the best pickleball paddles on the market today. Randy has played Pickleball for over 10 years and is currently a 4.5 player.
In 1976, Randy authored and published the best-selling racquetball college textbook and was an early touring racquetball pro. He has served as President of USA Racquetball and was inducted into the Racquetball Hall of Fame. He is considered a historian of the sport of racquetball and developed the online Racquetball Museum. Randy has also been an active volunteer for the Smithsonian Institute for Natural History concerning animal conservation.
Steven Stafford - VP and Manufacturing Engineer
Steven is an engineer with a decade of experience in the pickleball industry. A ‘14 Dartmouth grad, he studied engineering, philosophy, and neuroscience while playing football for the Big Green. During this time he also developed the Minecraft mod Dimensional Doors, which boasts over 13 million downloads to date.
At Stafford Paddles, Steven is responsible for the design and fabrication of the custom equipment we use to manufacture our paddles. According to his wife, son, and friends, he has a passion for industrial machinery that is rather disturbing at times.
Steven maintains a wide variety of interests and hobbies, including (but not limited to) software development, metal casting, ceramics, disc golf, woodworking, welding, high voltage power electronics, video games, kites, diy drones, fluidic logic systems, pyrotechnics, and 3D printing. Some of these may yet prove useful.
Dan Roberts - Product Development Engineer
Dan is an Engineer and Entrepreneur who brings a unique set of skills and talents to the team. Born and raised in Memphis, Dan continued his education at Northwestern University and graduated with a Manufacturing and Design Engineering degree before returning home to work as a product development engineer at Medtronic. He quickly gave into his passion for teaching and has continued to grow his education businesses ever since. Through his company Bits, Bytes, and Bots Computer Adventures, he still conducts STEM camps throughout the Mid-South at public and private schools.
Dan has also continued his own education by completing graduate programs in Engineering and Education. During his free time, Dan loves to spend time with his family. He has an Instagram worthy dog and enjoys traveling with his wife and two sons. When not being a husband and father, he tries rooting for the home sports team or playing in high level amateur golf tournaments around the Southeast.
