Which paddle is right for me?
The Blackbird is considered an extended paddle, which is a very popular shape. It has a 5.5” handle which is good for tennis converts that use a two handed backhand. For players that like to drive the ball from backcourt and midcourt, you could consider this paddle to be a hard driver. Being the most typical shape of paddle on the market, it will be easy for you to step right into using the Blackbird if you are already using an extended paddle. One will find this paddle offers great power and will require top spin on drive shots to keep the ball between the lines. Because of the built-in power of the Blackbird paddle, a player will be able to back down on their hard swings and work with more accuracy. This offers the player the best of both worlds; it provides power without having to swing so hard, thus making accuracy go up. Works well for dink shots at the kitchen line as well.
The Nighthawk is a wider paddle with a shorter handle. For players that are coming from Table Tennis, Racquetball or want a quicker control paddle at the net; this is the shape for you. Because the handle is shorter and the face of the paddle is wider, it works great for people from beginners to pro players. The Nighthawk is easier for lower-level players to use if they miss-hit the center of the paddle, as the wider face makes the paddle slightly more forgiving on shots that do not hit the center of the paddle. Players can move this paddle quicker at the net and it is slightly more forgiving on ground strokes. The Nighthawk will have slightly less power than the Blackbird due to the ball being hit different distances away from your hand. Backcourt drives will still require the operator to include top spin with drives to keep the ball under control and inside the lines.
Both paddles will have extreme quiet properties. Just as important, both paddles have less vibration that other similar brands. You will be able to swing thru the ball without having excessive kickback that would be felt in your arm or wrist. Combined with very low decibel levels, our paddles offer a unique play not offered by any other paddle on the market.
